Nirmal Sidhu credits Bengal for nurturing his love for literature and the arts. His passion for writing and acting began during his school and college days, and has matured further during his time in Canada. His poetic journey continues to be inspired by the experiences he gathered while living in various countries across Central Asia and Europe. His works have also been featured in various magazines and online platforms.

For the past several years, he has been actively involved in the Hindi and Punjabi theatre scene in Canada. Some of the notable plays he has acted in include Adhe-Adhure, Surdas, Papa Ka Chashma, Badboo, Stupid Girl, and Vakhre Rang Kaneda De. He also did some successful shows of stand up comedy as well.
